Hi everybody

My name is Martin and I am a type 2 and have just been told that I am to have insulin supplements along with my oral medication. I knew this day would arrive one day. It sounds silly but I am not bothred about it the only thing that does bother me is motor insurance. You here stories of ridiculously high premiums for people on insulin.

Is there anyone out there that can point me in the right direction?

best regards

Martin

Hi mbjacko and welcome to the forum.

I will bump your post up so that it will not get left behind and hope that someone can answer your queries.

Catherine.

Hi Martin and welcome. :)

There have been a number of posts on the subject of driving and being on insulin fairly recently so it would be worth using the search box to do a bit of digging - although someone who knows the answers to your query may well be along soon. :)

What are your statistics -
HbA1c progress over the last year or two
BG readings overnight & after meals
Diet
Present medication

Active control, particularly WRT carb reduction, may well mean that insulin can be postponed.
