I'm so sorry to hear your infection is still bothering you, you do have a bad patch of luck.

As for the right type of antibiotics, you'll need the advice from your doctor, they know about your allergies and the different types of antibiotics that will help you.

I'm a bit puzzled, candidiasis is a fungal infection, and those are usually treated with anti fungal medication, not antibiotics like penicillin.
Are you sure you understood the recommended medication or diagnosis correctly?

I agree with @Antje77 , plus antibiotics make fungal infections worse, I think.

That was what I was told when I asked about it I do have antifungal cream but it was just making my superpubic catheter very wet & I wasn't offered an alternative option to take.

If it’s antibiotics you need there are plenty more than penicillin, I’m allergic to quite a few including penicillin and the GP manages to find a suitable one when needed. Some that are better than the first line antibiotics but a lot more expensive than penicillin.

I think you need to go back to your GP and find out exactly what your infection is and then what would be the best treatment for it. There is anti fungal powders as well as creams so maybe ask about one of those?

Please try to get an appointment to have your results and the recommended treatment very clearly explained, and make sure you discuss your allergies as well.
If you have a bacterial infection on top of the fungal candidiasis, antibiotics may well be needed, but that's something to discuss with a professional, not on the forum.

I hope you'll feel better soon!
