Hi,
Ive been told I have to introduce myself, even though I've been on the Forum for over a year
Apparently I've not done so officially.
I'm a Type 2 Diagnosed in July 2012.
65 years old, Retired
Grow Orchids and take Photographs as a Hobby
I was overweight and very unfit. when Diagnosed
I joined the Forum to find info on Diabetes, as like most people was left to "Get on with it, you have Diabetes"
I stay in South Africa, and we don't have forums for Diabetics here that I am aware of.
Since 2012 I have become pretty fit, go to gym 4-4 days a week, Have lost about 35Kg and adopted a Low Carb Eating style.
I am on 2x500 Metformin, and my last HbA1c was 5.5, im due for a visit to a Diabetic Centre on 30th July for another test.
I have learnt a tremendous amount on the Forum, and have fun almost daily, getting involved.
To anyone new, you have found a very good site to learn and share with fellow Diabetics.
Im Done :)

I've had the same message at the top of my forum page today. I'm tagging @Giverny here, hoping there may be a way of suppressing the message, for those of us who have been active already. On my iPad, it clogs my screen. I don't use the app on the pad as I find it less user friendly.

Basically this is just part of a system we've just implemented to help newbies find their way around the forum & introduce themselves to the community. There's nothing stopping you oldies from doing it too! :D

Got this too!
Think it may be because I have been here so long that I predate the "Introduce Yourself " thread and hence have never used it!
