Hi All,

My name is carl, i am 40 and I was diagnosed on friday after feeling not quite right and having some pain passing water.

I had 'keytones?' (sounds like an option from my mobile phone settings menu) and a sugar level of 21. After a trip to the hospital and 5 days of metformin (3 a day) I seem to have levelled off at about 14.8.

I have had a couple of days off work to see doctors, nurses etc and hope to go back full time on monday.

Its hit me hard really but coming to terms with things slowly and trying to adjust to new lifestyle.

Its good to find this forum and others in a similar situation.

read everything you can get your hands on ( except perhaps Diabetes Uk's dietary advice :lol: ) and you'll get to grips with things.
Everyone has eventually to find their own way through the minefield.There are so many choices.
