I have just joined and thought I should introduce myself! My name is Lorna and I have been a type 1 diabetic since 1975, 34 years. I will be 45 in August and my diabetes is well controlled. I don't see a specialist at the hospital anymore but do see the diabetic nurse at my GP's a couple of times a year.

My blood is regularly tested because, unfortunately, I have Chronic Kidney Disease, it is quite stable at the moment so fingers crossed dialysis is a long way off.

In the last couple of years I have gained LOADS of weight and now need to lose it, I am finding it very difficult. More weight I gain more insulin I need, more insulin I need more weight I gain.....

Looking forward to getting lots of tips and info from you all

Lorna

Hi Lorna.
Welcome to the forum.

Have a good look around particularly the T1 section. There are many ways you might be able to lose that weight and I am sure someone will be along to advise you. When you are ready ask any questions you may have. We will try and answer you.

Ken.
