Hi, I'm new on here and looking for help while I wait to see my diabetic nurse.

I have been a diabetic since august 1977 and for the last month I've been having a nightmare with my levels, for example a night it read 16.2 and this morning it was 2.6, I've tried everything but nothing works. This all started after I caught a cold.

Has anyone else experienced this?

If your levels are dropping that much overnight your basal is probably too high.

My bloods have been like this since I was diagnosed in 1994. I've never really found anything to work, as I got older and started to manage my own bloods I would put myself to bed with bloods in the 20s to be sure I wouldn't drop stupid amounts overnight, it has always been the early hours I would wake up with hypos. My Dr recently changed my long lasting insulin and the amounts and this seems to be working (fingers crossed). But the best thing is to talk to your DNS about it
