Last week I was away on holiday and did a lot of walking, and with the exception of 3 hypos my blood sugar levels were really well controlled.
We moved on to a different part of the holiday and had a meal at a buffet restauraunt on Friday evening. My Blood Sugar since then has been through the roof.
Originally put it down to this but it's now Monday and still sitting really high :-(
The only thing I can put it down to now is that I have something hanging around me despite feeling ok. My son has had a cold at the back end of last week so I can only assume that I've got that sitting in the background.
Blood Sugar started at 15.6 this morning, took 3 correction units with my breakfast and it went down to 14.7 after 4 hours.
Things like this with with Diabetes really frustrate me but just wanted to have a rant!!
I've temporally put my basal up as well to see if that helps matters.
Unfortunately I'm back at work today so better just power on :-)

They are thankfully starting to come down a wee bit.
Guess I must have done the right thing putting my basal up for the time being.

Check that your pen or insulin that you are using whilst on holiday isn't left in a car etc to get over heated....

Thanks, that was one of the first things that I tried.
I put my basal up a wee bit further on Tuesday and things came under control a bit more.
I spoke to a DSN on Wednesday and she thought it was either a bug hanging around or it could just be that my insulin requirements had gone up.
I've taken two units of my Lantus back out again last night, I had put it up by 4. So far the results seem more under control.
