Have you been drinking plenty of water, because that can help with blood sugars.Just tested again, bloods now at 12.7, still not good but a lot better than the 17.3 earlier. Hopefully they'll go continue to come down.

nothing to apologise for.referring me to a cardiologist for further discussion.
I called to try and get an appt with DN, told no appt's at all and to call back week of 22 Dec so I'll need to just monitor this myself for now.
just had a call to arrange my gastroscopy for 24 Dec.
Sorry for the rambling post

I know it’s easy to say, but try to relax a bit. Worry & stress can affect BG too, lots of things can besides what we eat, including illness, pain. You are doing all you can and yes it can take a bit of time for them to come down, and you appear to be going in the right direction so that’s a positiveYes it's been a long wait for all these tests, I'm still waiting on the results from my CT scan as well. I'm with Lanarkshire Health Board, I asked today for a possible tel appt with the DN but couldn't get that either. My blood sugars aren't coming down and I've been super careful eating today but maybe it's just going to take a bit of time. It's just worrying. Thanks so much for your reply.

I'm now starting to wonder if I should call for an emergency appt though, my bloods first thing this morning were 11.2, I didn't eat until lunchtime when I had 2 scrambled eggs with a slice of wholemeal toast (9 grams of carbs),
thankfully the ketone level looked normal which was my biggest concern.

If I need a doctor's appointment (not an emergency) I always phone at 8am and get one on the day, it is the only chance I have of getting an appointment without having to wait weeks for one. If I had an emergency I would go to a & e not the doctors or I would phone 999. The doctors also generally have a duty doctor dedicated each day to see patients that need an urgent appointment. I used to work at the doctors and if I need an appointment I just phone and ask for it - I have seen it all and you wouldn't believe what people would be seen for right away at the docs. Take care and just phone at 8am when they open and say you can't wait until whenever it is they have already offered you an appointment. Take good care of and look after yourself xHello, Yes, my GP surgery also has the 8am appt's, but for emergencies only. I'm now starting to wonder if I should call for an emergency appt though, my bloods first thing this morning were 11.2, I didn't eat until lunchtime when I had 2 scrambled eggs with a slice of wholemeal toast (9 grams of carbs), would only usually have minimally increased my bloods, when I tested 2 hours later they were 13.7! I've never had a reading like that after a meal even if it was stupidly high in carbs.
I received the urine test strips I'd ordered and have tested with them as well, thankfully the ketone level looked normal which was my biggest concern. The leukocyte level is very high which I think signals an infection of some sort and the glucose levels were off the scale! Probably shouldn't surprise me with those blood sugars. I just don't know what's going on, I'm trying not to stress about this but it's worrying me now.
I don't think these new tablets they've put me on are doing anything either, the Alogliptin did very little but I never had these readings when I was taking them. Thanks for letting me vent my concerns here, and any advice would be greatly appreciated.

High urine leukocyte levels are most often an indication of a UTI, which is usually easily treated with antibiotics.I received the urine test strips I'd ordered and have tested with them as well, thankfully the ketone level looked normal which was my biggest concern. Letus know if things improve with the antibiotic!GP just decided to give me an antibiotic when I had tel consultation. Hopefully they'll help a bit.
