Type of diabetes
Type 2
Hi everyone,
I'm new here & worried.
I seem to have lost control of my sugars. I have type1/type 2 diabetes which is called cystic fibrosis related diabetes. It's treated with insulin but we have been told to continue eating a high calorie diet, cakes, carbs etc & until recently I was able to still keep my sugars In the normalish range (post meal 7-8). Which is good consider i eat alot of carbs & follow it with a custard slice or choc milkshake. Now however my sugars are in the 10-17 range 3 hrs after meal & I've reduced my carbs but I'm always hungry (Cf ).
I rotate my injecting sites.
Today for tea I ate wedges (small amount) chicken & salad. Took my insulin, 2 hrs post I was 11.9, then half hour later, with no eating/drinking I **** up to 13.
I'm worried & anxious as my hba1c us creeping up.
Got diabetic clinic for cf's in September.
Many thanks.xx

Don't worry - we are quite used to these misspelling phones.
As you have the means to test yourself you could see if reducing the densely carb foods and substituting lots of low carb veges with both help with the hunger and reduce your blood glucose.
Low carb is not automatically low calorie, and there is always something you can eat, which can make a real difference to how easy it is to stick to a way of eating.
