What are your numbers typically fasting and after meals? The apple thing is strange, I know. My mum and brother are both T2 and can't eat them, but they can both do strawberries. I can't. Last time I had strawberries I was dizzy and fast asleep within an hour.
I've been focusing on weight until recently ignoring numbers. I really need to focus on numbers now, although losing weight would be good too.

You're not hijacking at all horn player! I am learning so much from other people's input, and I am also learning that other people have very similar problems to me, with DP and erratic numbers. I'm trying to establish a lifestyle for myself at about 50 carbs. I don't think I'm ready to fast yet because I don't know my body well enough yet. But keep coming up with all this information!I used to be vegetarian. I even dream about lentils sometimes lol, but I'm allergic to avocado so my options are a bit limited. Love celery though.
What do you think? Should I try fasting? - I don't want to hijack this thread with my weirdness...

I believe this could be true for some people but not me. I need to keep an eye on calories of all kinds. If Im not hungry and that amount of calories keeps me going then that's all I need. I have never needed lots of cals. And when I have eaten I have just gained fat which I don't need. Fasting for days or many hours can certainly be called calorie restriction.Be careful o calorie restriction as that will lower metabolic output and stall weight loss too. Back to Jason Fung again!

Going to have to check out Jason Fung I think.
I will start testing more and keeping a log I think. If I get any interesting results I'll post them.
To be honest, I had fallen into the trap of eating too few calories. I stopped losing weight and panicked. I started on low carb versions of some of the established groups. I figured that they must know what they're doing and I thought that maybe having someone insult me and lecture me on the "benefits of sugar free jelly" once a week, would help me stay on track. It really didn't. I gained weight and all they said - when they weren't accusing me of living on doughnuts, was that I had to stick with it and it would come off when I was "in balance".
I need to get back to where I was before my .... Hiccup. It's going to take a bit of tweaking. I start to get very tired around 2.30. Probably because my sugar levels are down off my morning high. Coffee used to be my lifeline. - the only way to face twelve 7 year olds with trumpets, but I've had to give up caffeine.
