This was this morning though - I just don’t understand - surely it’s not right that it lets me go so high - I was in the 20s???tagging a couple of medtronic 780 users: @Ann48 @sleepster @Nicola M

I have been in this system for nearly 3 yearsHow long have you been on this pump, as it takes a while for it to learn your diabetes. Have you checked your bloods with a finger prick test and input the results? Maybe still high because of your cold, or hormones (sorry I don't know your age), cold weather.
If none of these apply, it's always good to check your basal insulin requirements haven't changed.
Yes I dropped as I did a fill canula to get some insulin inhows levels at the moment down some more i hope?
So the pump said 8.9 - bm has just read 11.4
Inputted that into pump & gave correction it offered
Thanks for your replySmartGuard will max out corrections, as far as I am aware, they "reset" at midnight, so if you've been given a lot of corrections overnight by the time midday rolls around, you could have maxed out your corrections and need to input a blood glucose reading to get it to start giving you corrections again. The pump learns from you every day and, in effect, takes into account the last 24 hours to base your insulin for the next day. You can only change so much in SmartGuard, your Active Insulin Time, most people swear by 2 hours, your Target blood sugar range, as far as I remember, there are 3 numbers you can set it to, mine is set to the middle one, as that works for me and your carb ratios. Are you certain your carb ratios are correct for each time of the day? Have you spoken to your diabetes team about perhaps changing some settings to see if that helps?
