Hello from Manchester UK. I'm 67 next month and been type 2 for 25 yrs. Or more.
Never had a hypo as far as zi know. Always above normal with readings 10=18 with mornings around 10 since taking pre meal insilin.
Metformin x 4. . I am 6ft 3 abd 18 stone . Drink moderately. Eat healthy but snack a bit.
Worse thing to happen recently was very large and sore blisters on my feet after a 4 mile hike. Total agony. I was told it was diabetic blisters.
Then a year later I spent silly money on new boots and socks to start hiking...... 3 weeks ago broke my ankle at work ..... cruel world.
PS . Diabetic clinic started me on the arm monitor linked to wiFi. What a brilliant thing. So much better than finger pricking.

Hello @oily byker ,

Ye gods, what an introduction to the forum! That foot looks very painful indeed... You've had rotten luck with your foot and ankle, for which I am very sorry. The new boots kind of reminds me of a song my nan used to sing, about a kid who begged his mother for new shoes, and when he finally got them, he crossed the street without looking... Tram ran over his ankles, so he had sparkling new shoes, but no feet to wear them on. I asked her to sing that song over and over, because there was no way it would *always* end badly, right? I was one silly kid. Hopeful, but silly. ;)

Guess I remain hopeful still though, as with the monitor, your blood glucose control might improve some, I hope. And no more long-time-in-the-healing feet complications...! Fingers crossed eh.

Anyway, welcome!
Jo

PS: Odds are you'll get a few responses asking you what you consider a "healthy diet", as what is healthy for many, isn't healthy for people with a metabolic condition, like us... Many here follow a low carb lifestyle to avoid medication/insulin, or keep them to a minimum. Might be something to look in to. But if you're happy with the way things are, and the CGM is helping, good on you!
