Does anyone get spikes in their sugar level when eating "low g.i" foods, especially at breakfast, I can be 7 before breakfast, il have a bowl of porridge or oats, inject, and half hour later be between 16-20. Its getting annoying now.
If this happens everythime, it may just be the dawn phenomen or the gi...if you know this occurs happens everytime, why not just inject a little earlier?????
Some people have larger carb:insulin ratios in the morning (I think most but I actually have a slightly lower ratio at breakfast)
The type he of oats can make a difference ie instant and finely milled can be quite high GI.
The quantity can make a difference. Interestingly , 30g is the 'normal' portion size on a French packet of oats, it's 40g on the English one.
