Hello!
Just after a little advice re: high bood sugars.
I was diagnosed with Type 2 (MODY) in 2012 when I was 22, and up until the last 6 months or they've always been well controlled. I just take Gliclazide.
My hba1c levels were always in the 40's, however at my December 2016 it was 60. We upped the Gliclazide and I went back in February, and my hba1c was 68.
My diabetic nurse then doubled my Gliclazide and said to come back in April and see how they doing, but if anything they seem to be getting higher and I'm starting to feel unwell with it.
This morning before I'd even eaten my reading 16.9 - they're generally all around this mark, and had some in the 20's. I can't remember the last time I had a reading under 10.
Constantly drained, mouth is like sandpaper, can't drink enough water, getting headaches and dizzy spells and just generally feel off all the time. I was at hospital last week for something unrelated, and there was protein and glucose in my urine sample, so that worried me too. They didn't say anything else about that.
I don't drink alcohol, exercise and go for walks as much as I can, I eat as well as I can, I'm careful with carbs and eat alot of veg, fish etc. Not overweight (8st 10).
Just quite frustrated really, would it be best to go to GP rather than diabetic nurse for her to just keep telling me to come back in such a time?
Any advice appreciated - apologies for the essay!
