Hi there and welcome! I wonder which came first, high blood sugar making you feel rubbish, or feeling rubbish has made your sugars rise. Maybe you are brewing a bug?

Perhaps you may want to share what your usual meals are like? Or whether there has been changes in your sleep cycles...

They've been creeping up over the last month and nothing has transpired re bugs.. Sleep is OK apart from wanting to sleep more, vision is blurring and concentration poor, thrush all high Bs signs.. Eating hasn't changed.. For example yesterday.. Mushroom omelette for breakie, tuna salad with mayo. Chicken, sweet potato n salad, natural yogurt, blueberries, Satsuma.. Not too bad I don't think..

Hi and welcome,

Are you testing before you eat and again 2 hours after first bite? That should tell you if your food choices are OK by looking at the rise from before to after. If it is more than 2mmol/l there are some carbs in that meal that your body doesn't like. It is preferable to keep any rise as low as possible. If these rises are minimal, then it isn't your food causing your high blood sugars.

Thank you... No I only tend to test first thing in the morn.. Normally anywhere between 6-7... Never have I been 19.1, it was 18.5 yesterday!!

Hello and welcome to the forum :)

With that sort of recent extreme increase I think you should go see your GP. Your BG might be reacting to an illness or infection you don't know you have.

In the meantime you should keep a note of what you eat (including quantities) and test your BG before you eat and two hours after - and before you go to bed - and take this information with you when you see your GP.

Yes... I'll book an appointment with gp.... No carbs at all yesterday, still 18.. So a trip for to the docs for me... Thanks
