is it normal for sugars to rise when exercising?
Mine always go to around 10, not too sure why

depending on the intensity of your exercise and the time of testing (within 30mins - 1 hour after exercise) it may be you need to wait longer for the post sugar test. Exercise will generally increase levels in the short run, then drop in the long run. This is even more pronounced with insulin dependence. You may need/want to adjust your carbs / insulin ratio before you exercise. If everything else is the same in your life except for the exercise intensity, then rechecking even up to 4 hours later may be something to try in the short run, to see what the drops may be. When i was trying to work out mine, i had help from my diabetes clinic team.

I hope that provides some insight for you :)

I wouldn't go adjusting things on your own if your unsure. I cant stress that enough! I did in fact do what I've just said don't do, and I did experience some horrible hypos!

It's been fine 99% of the time but I was curious as to why it goes so high and if it was bad that is does

its perfectly normal. Dont worry too much about it. How soon after exercising are your testing ?

Good to hear! Must have been about an hour after.

My sugars normally crash between am hour and 12hours after exercise, my diabetes team told me this is normal amd so is a slight rise in sugars during exercise

I had this , but I read on here that having a some carbs before exercising can help (there was a technical explanation why), and it did , I was having 9s and 10s after exercise and now they are below 8 and sometimes below 7, I generally have a slice of wholemeal bread 30/60 mins before working out.....
