everything good for me! getting better though x
Met a few friends at a local meet-up and we were discussing loads of different diabetes stuff. We talked about some really interesting stuff and so I'm going to post a few questions. I have been looking for some of the answers but cant seem to find too many.

So, the first question is:
What is the highest blood glucose level ever recorded?

One of my relatives is an ER doctor in New York. She said hyperglycemia is one of the most common reasons people are admitted into the hospital.

I asked her the same question a few months back. Apparently, there is a rare condition known as "H.O.N.K" that elderly people with type 2 (usually accompanied by an acute illness) can get. Apparently, their blood sugar can get as high as 60 mmol/l

Pump
Hi
I have been on a Medtronic Veo pump for the last 7 years, a fortnight ago I changed my infusion set at around 1700 having my usual tea time bolus beforehand. When I went to bed I noticed my BG was a little on the high side (9.3), I had a small bolus then retired to bed for the night. I woke around 0500 feeling strange then I started being very ill I won't bore you with the details but when I checked my BG it was 29.7mmol/l, the cannula had not gone through the skin the plastic bit was just stuck to the sticky bit. I don't know if this is any record but it sure is scary and just shows how fast DKA kicks in when you are taking fast acting insulin only and the pump does not deliver what it should (no basal insulin was delivered for 12 hours).
