Hip Replacement

I have been waiting a long time too as I was classed as high risk after having 2 strokes and diabetes and the surgeon thought I should go to the pain clinic for a year where they turned me into a complete junkie on morphine and still had pain from my hip !! Finally in April this year they decided the only option was to operate .Thanks for your good wishes x

Got the long awaited phone call yesterday telling me to report to hospital at 7am on Thursday 14th August for my hip replacement operation . I cannot believe it's finally happening . Hope to be our the following Sunday if all goes well so will keep you posted will be interesting to see what my BS does after the op .
Very good news...pain relief at last. Most likely they will put you on an insulin drip (Actropid usually) and you'll be fine. Speedy recovery too Connie:)

Just an update came through operation ok lot of pain first night but have been up walking with a Zimmer frame today and even managed to go to the loo so all looking good for going home tomorrow

So pleased to hear from you!
And it gets better - every day - especially once you're back home in your own bed!
X

Thanks Brunneria you are so right can't wait to get home in my own bed with my doggies and husband of course !

Glad to hear you're up and about, and on the mend Connie. You must be relieved to have it over and done with.

Great news Connie! So glad it went well, it'll be good for you to get home soon too. xx

Pleased to hear it went well. Take care on your return home and do as the hospital advise regarding how much you should do and anything you shouldn't.
