Hippies

Yeah .... born 1953 and stoned in 68.
Stoned many times after that too.
If you saw a skinny guy with bright yellow loons having a pint of your milk away in the early misty morning of Manchester it was me but but but .... I only helped myself to a bottle if there was at least another bottle on the step for you.
Didn't want to leave you without.
Just wanted to share.
I was ethical like that.
Love and peas man.
 
I now only grow hair inside my head.
 
I posted this on the mods and rockers thread but it belongs better here ;) I've not got many hippy-ish photos of me, never thouht of photos at the time, never had the money to get photos developed! Anyone else got any photos of their hippy selves?

I loved kaftans they always had such wonderful coloured patterns on. The width of some flared trousers are hard to imagine now. Happy Easter everyone :chicken::joyful:
 
Didn't make an appearance until 72 but did vast amounts of mind altering substances while listening to Spirit, Grateful Dead and Mountain in the early 90's ;)

Can't stand the stuff. Makes me want to heave! My dad had some aftershave which smelt of it. Used to have to hold my breath when brushing teeth so I couldn't smell it. Yuck! Sorry!

Edit to add .... I am almost the opposite to all the above and never a hippy in any way shape or form ...she is also to young to be a full hippy

I am often called a hippy, whatever that means! Apparently it's to do with an unconventional attitude as well as hating rules and conformity. But then again, Iove Mr Scandi as well as floaty clothes and the stones. :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

I've discovered a source of Patchouli in Boots. They have section called the Fragrance Library or something like that and they have a 20 or so small bottles so I bought one for Mr Chris as he's always liked it but couldn't find any. He smells like an old hippy now. :woot:
 
Ah those hippy bands. Incredible String Band, Nirvana (not the Kurt Cobain ones), Tyrrannosaurus Rex (before Marc Bolan sold out and went glam and electric), listening to John Peel on the radio,

Noooooooooo not Pink Floyd! Actually they were great, but after Ummagumma (Granchester Meadows, Several Species of small furry annimals etc etc) they took themselves a bit too seriously.


I think this was filmed on the beach at West Wittering not far from me
