Wow … just … WOW!Had phone call from my doctors surgery a lovely sounding lady introducing herself as the new head diabetic nurse at the surgery asking me how I was and if all my meds are correct . Thought this makes a change I replied bit of an issue with my insulin not really working great at the moment . Where she replied I’m sorry I no nothing about insulin you will have to tell me how it works as I don’t really deal with patients who are on insulinscarey

Robert, the OPs situation, relating to scant knowledge by those in primary care is not uncommon, unfortunately. This is no laughing matter. I suggest you report your conversation to the responsible local body. This is likely to be a local care system, 42 of which replaced clinical commissioning groups in England in 2021. A web search should identify your local board and address.
If no action is taken patients at your GP practice are at risk of suffering severe health problems.

No idea why though.
I have read of people cheerfully injecting insulin into comatose type 1s in a hypo, sometimes enough to kill them - as they don't understand the problem.
