Hello, this is my first time on here so it's all a bit new, but the situation is....my 14 yr old daughter was diagnosed with type 1 4 months ago. We are dealing with it ok so far but her dad and stepmum are taking her to Tunisia in 2 weeks time, for 2 weeks and I'm basically worried sick! They have only seen her a few times since diagnosis so their knowledge of diabetes is very basic, but my worry is the obvious - heat and risk of illness. They have had some training from the diabetic nurse in what to do in the event of illness etc. but I was just wondering if anyone can offer us some first hand experience please on the effect of BG in high temp ( it's currently about 32 degrees and will get hotter). My daughter hasn't been exposed to heat really since diagnosis so I have no idea how it will affect her. Also any other travel advice would be appreciated. We have the frio bags to keep insulin cool, there is a fridge in the room too.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
