HomeMade LowCarb CremeEggs

That link had me glued to my laptop this afternoon. The blogger has made her own Truvia sweetener substitute (much cheaper than the actual thing) so I looked at that, then I goggled her sweetener ingredients and found carb free Stevia. I went from Stevia powder to Stevia white powder to these flavoured drops

They aren't cheap but I bet they last ages. I'm considering the chocolate and vanilla ones for baking.

I have never understood how anyone could like those things - the thought of eating one now is making me gyp  - well done that lady for her inventiveness though - she will have made a lot of people very happy!

The photo's put me in mind of a trick played many years ago on a chef I worked alongside - he was a little commis chef and loved the eggs - he always tore the wrapper off and popped the whole thing into his mouth without biting into it first - the other chefs opened a creme egg down the seam with a hot knife - scooped out all the insides and filled it with english mustard laced with hot sauce  - they sealed it back up and wrapped it - gave it to him - in his mouth it goes, he bites down - his poor face!! - I think his eyes watered for the next 4 hrs - I still see him now again and thirty years later he still laughs about it! - says he still eats the eggs whole though

At last! someone who feels like I do about creme eggs :D . I will also add to that list Mars Bars, and Cadbury's Flakes unless they come in a large 99 icecream

Hi Everyone,

Happy Easter to one and all.

Not on computer much these days. I'm spending quite a bit of time walking each day with friend and their pooch who enjoys alot of 'fetch' entertainment.
Easter Eggs, cream ones, always was my down fall till the diabetes became part of my life. Have to steel myself away from any displays that contain them now, the cals/sugar content being so rediculously high for such a small egg - unbelieveable.
Am not put off altogether though, a little chocolate will pass my lips over Easter with the saying in mind - a little bit of what you fancy does you good :D Sweets were always a major part of my life, so was/is fruit and veg, difficult to force myself to think first before picking up a sweet when feeling a bit down, now, walking keeps me away from the sweet stuff most times and when I do have one there isn't the guilt, it gets walked off.

Thinking about it, sweets were more relevant when I was a smoker (many moons ago)after, savoury became more of an interest to me - so it's carb watching too!! :(
Not going to dwell on it too much - life is too short. Grum
