Hi folks - diagnosed type1 3 weeks ago tomorrow...I understand that the honey moon phase can last anywhere up to 12 months but for some reason my glucose readings seem quite high the past two evenings and I have to take two correction doses to bring them back down. I haven't been eating higher amounts of carbs, in fact I actually had the same dinner as last week (exact same weighed out) but as I said glucose levels way up like double the normal range.

Does anybody have any idea what this might be?

How would I know my honey moon phase is coming to an end/ended?

Cheers

Sam

Could be Sam. Was this just one night or is this happening regularly now ? What was your old carb/insulin ratio and readings and what are they now ?

Thank you for your mature response mo lol. Well it has been last night and tonight. I usually take about 6 units to cover a 100g carb meal however, at dinner time I took 8 units...then two hours later another 3 units...and another two hours later 3 more. 30 minutes on now from the last 3 units and it's reading 11.7.....usually I'm in between 4.5 and 5.5. :(

Could this be it for me?

Could be a specific reaction to a specific food, could be stress, could be illness, could be you forgot your basal, could be your insulin has gone off. I would bet on illness. Your honeymoon period should last a while longer I hope but there is no rule for it, everyone is different.
