Just a quick question, if my basal rate changes because (presumably) my own insulin production is declining, does that mean my bolus rate needs to change too?
Over the last 4 weeks or so I've noticed that my usual 12 units of Toujeo aren't curbing my dawn effect as well, and even though I seem stable enough during the day (exercise doesn't even really affect my values much, which is nice!) I'm a little higher than usual. I thought it was stress related but I'm starting to suspect that my natural production is declining again, as my stress is less than before but my readings are the same. I've slowly bumped it up to 14 over the past 7-10 days and I'm seeing much better morning values now with no adverse effects during the day. Might even go up to 15. (I don't basal test because it disrupts my sleep schedule so much I end up with full on insomnia episodes for a week, so I just slowly increase by 1-2 units at a time until I nail it.)
I'm not really noticing any differences in my i:c ratios though, which confused me a little bit. I was pretty sure that if my basal needs to go up, my ratio changes as well. So far I'm still getting perfect results with my ratio since January, as long as I stick to injecting 15-20 minutes prior. Is this normal? Should I keep a closer eye on it and expect this to change shortly too?
