@Andygoat well done! You didn’t waste any time at all but made the necessary changes to your diet and saw great results! Well done!

You sound like me, My A1c was 52 at diagnosis.
I believe there is a strong correlation between a low diagnostic level & residual beta cell function.
Sounds like you are doing the right things so far.
Keep it up & you should be able to reintroduce some carbs back based on your meter but give it time.

Thank you it was hard at first not much help from doctors had to find out myself. But take positive from it at least I eat properly now and lost weight which I would never have done before

Thanks for reply I really believe if it’s diagnosed early and you cut the carbs and lose some weight it does wonders for you for me it’s a life style and mindset change which I will have to continue with

You don't have to catch it early. Dr David Unwin's seen T2 diabetes remission in some of his patients in their 80's who've been diabetic for over 10yrs and in some cases had gone far enough down the medication route to be insulin dependent!

@Andygoat , we’ll done on your achievements so far, keep up the good work.
I achieved non diabetic HbA1cs and lost a shed load of weight too by going low carb, but what stood out in your post is your last sentence, I have said time and time again that my diagnosis has been a blessing in disguise :)

Many thanks would rather not have it but have taken the positives and they out way negatives so far :):)
