I have had these on a number of nails for about 8 months and finally went to the gp about them. After ruling out various causes the gp claimed they were due to type 1. Has anyone else ever had these and if so was type 1 the real cause? I'm always nervous of any gp who tries to blame things on it. I've had type 1 for 34 years and my last hba1c was 6.2.

I've read that these are due to changes in health; I've had them. I suspect your GP may be guessing a bit?
What were yours due to? Pm me if you'd prefer. I got her to agree to run bloods for vitamin deficiencies and she ruled out vascular causes and dietary ones.
