depending how long you are going in for, a couple of days doesn't matter much.It is a private hospital (using the NHS Choose & Book Scheme), and the food was fairly good when I was in last June but, even so, I lived on toast, plus crackers and Marmite for weeks and I can't do that anymore!
I'll survive by just choosing salads and getting my husband to supply full fat yogurt and strawbs for breakfast.
Thanks. Absolutely dreading it. First knee replacement proved traumatic to say the least.Good luck with hospital stay lynn best wishes ...kat
Thanks, I will. Remember now how bland all the food tasted.Lynn,
Last time I was in hospital (before diabetes) there was no salt to be had anywhere. None provided and none used in cooking. Maybe you could consider this.
All the best for your hospital stay.
I was only in two days when I had my new hip.
Take the carbs of the plate and there is nothing left.No plain yogurt.but for such a short time it didnt matter.
If its longer ask for food from home.
Thanks. Absolutely dreading it. First knee replacement proved traumatic to say the least.
No choice about knee number two, unfortunately. Bone on bone.
Very kind of you. Thanks.Hi Lynn, sometimes diabetes has to take a back seat for a while if you are going into hospital for an operation you will need to get better quickly and you wont do that eating only salads.
Accept that your bg levels may rise for a few days, eat well and get better asap.
Good luck with your op
