Has anyone had a problem after being discharged from hospital with a rise in their blood pressure sugar my husband is type 2 on 1 sitagliptin per day his blood sugar before being in hospital was around 7 or 8.2 two hours after meals now after a 30 minute walk it 11 and sometimes 13 he was in hospital for a week with a chest infection but is well now will it eventually come back to normal and how long should he wait after walking should he test he’s also careful what he eats

Did your husband have any steroids while in hospital? Note that hospital food is cheap and unhealthy. It will have been high in carbs. Did he gain weight whilst in hospital as this can cause an increase in insulin resistance and hence blood sugar.
