ln 30 mins my BG has gone from 5 to 9.3 we are in a lay by l have just gulped/gulping 3/4 of a lt fizzy water.

l have a feeling from now onwards loo stops will be missing the more desperate l get.

I am still not sure why l had the drink must be at least 3yrs since l had a hotc and this was one was vile....if anyone finds my brain cell please pin it down and contact me urgently

thanks

I love the film Chocatat. When they're munching on chocolate and glugging down the hot chocolate I just damnwell want some for myself. However, hot chocolate can be an exotic treat of the highest quality but expensive, or an absolutely disgusting, over-sweetned, processed load of brown flavoured sugar, and also expensive, it dosen't even have the decency to be cheap!

One day, you'll learn not to go to those places. It's like fish and chips. They always smell divine when you're outside the shop, but sometimes when you get some, they are not so good. :yuck: x

No l normally don't bother as l say l haven't had HC for good grief 3+yrs. I usually end up being sick.....
Many yrs ago l worked with racing greyhounds and was looking for the shugar to put in my hot chocolate. The **** of a kennel maid pointed at the brown bag and said there is the sugar, the lads just returned what they borrowed (from one of the other kennels)
I put in couple of spoons and took a big swig, she thought it was really funny and now l would tear her to bits but she knew that it was the crystals to soak the dogs feet in. I have never been so ill in my life. Since then l have a few sips of HC and start to gag as get the taste back in my mouth of that day.

Today though l felt like a change from coffee or water and that was the only other hot drink. And your second description suits it best. or an absolutely disgusting, over-sweetened, processed load of brown flavoured sugar, and also expensive, it doesn't even have the decency to be cheap!
I would have been happy with a hot milk.

If hot milk is not on the menu, you could ask for a latte, without the coffee shot. Just a thought.

Typically a hot chocolate drink is loaded with sugar, so not surprising your bg went up.

The cafe part was not manned it was one of those machines so was no choice.

I know Nobelhead l told you please would everyone keep an eye out for my brain cell l know he has pushed off some place. By time we got home my legs were corkscrewed. I was in such a rush l drove past the services without thinking... see what l mean l need brain cell back

I made chocolate pots last week for the girls, ate one and felt ill all night. So when you find your brain cell perhaps you could lend it to me!image.jpg
