I just wondered if anyone had tried this and added sweetener to make it more palatable as a hot chocolate drink with almond milk? Or do you reckon the 85% Hot chocolate might be slightly better?
I’m after a really luxury hot chocolate but not full of sugar if something like that exists!!

If I want a really nice luxurious hot choc I just heat some double cream in the microwave don’t let it boil add a couple of squares of 85% or above chocolate and melt it in. It’s very rich so I only have a teacup size. You can add sweetener if you like.

Spicy food which is too hot. Nasty people who have no idea on your life journey but feel the need to comment and be cruel.
I have always made mine in the past with unsweetened almond milk. I found an organic powder which I am sure was plain with no sugar. Just looked and they have added icing sugar which it never had in it before. Bounrville doesn't have anything added. You could add a little cream to make it less bitter.

Ooh thank you for the suggestions.
Never thought of using double cream & chocolate and I always thought Cocoa powder had sugar in it so thank you.
Off to the supermarket this weekend.

I looked up the ingredients for Tesco's unsweetened almond milk:

INGREDIENTS: Water, Almond (2%), Tricalcium Phosphate, Sea Salt, Stabilisers (Locust Bean Gum, Gellan Gum), Emulsifier (Lecithins), Potassium Iodide, Vitamin E, Vitamin B12, Riboflavin, Vitamin D2

Pass the milk or cream please!

Most cocoa powder shouldn't have sugar (or sweetners or creamers) added, when it does its called hot or drinking chocolate.
But always check the labels, manufacturers change things willy nilly.

I make my hot drink by mixing a tablespoon of cocoa powder with a little cold water , and 1 single sweetener tablet. I then top up with boiling water but add a couple of tablespoons double cream
