Hi Everyone,
I'm seeing my GP on Friday to (hopefully) get a firm answer as to whether I am Type 2 or pre-diabetic. So far my tests have been borderline, so I've had extra tests to get a considered diagnosis. She indicated that if I am Type 2 then I will be given metformin. The thing is I have a very dodgy digestive system (IBS for my whole life) that is pretty well settled at the moment. So, if I am going to argue with my GP that as I will have a borderline diagnosis I'd like to try diet / exercise and NOT take medication, it would be useful to be armed with what the situation is for metformin. Having read around here for the last few weeks I appreciate many people have gastric issues as a side effect, but of the people taking it, how many in general get this side effect at all?
