Frankly this area could easily be a degree and masters which would still leave gaps. If you read the different forums you will get an insight into the frustrations. Nutrition is a "loaded" area as the official guidelines tends to harm many diabetics via the eat well recommendations; low carb, high fat diets or variants are extremely popular and common sense for many of us, running contrary to what "we" are advised.I've recently set up business as a health and wellness coach and I'm really keen to learn particularly from people with prediabetes and type 2 diabetes what frustrates you? What things you'd have liked help with in relation to your nutrition and lifestyle? And what tips you'd have for me to best help people? Thanks so much.
As you are setting up a business, and therefore aiming to gain from your research here, I hope you are aware that it is against forum rules to conduct research here without prior approval. When you have your approval I will be more than willing to answer your questions.I've recently set up business as a health and wellness coach and I'm really keen to learn particularly from people with prediabetes and type 2 diabetes what frustrates you? The people on this forum are great and the best help any diabetic could possibly get!The only decent way you can help diabetics is by referring them to the wealth of knowledge on here! And there's no charge!
Thank you so much for your comments. I do have a good understanding of diabetes and have already seen that this forum is an incredible resource. I think the lack of progress in diabetes care (Ref your comment about technology) and the very rigid approach that is still being taken with regard to diet is very unhelpful and is adding to the considerable confusion.Frankly this area could easily be a degree and masters which would still leave gaps. Regarding lifestyle many diabetics who are managing their condition educate themselves here, and or get support and answers which helps with lifestyle, reading the forums you will see nothing is off limits. I would like to see Type 1's (and some Type 2's / LADA diabetics) get CGM's or Libre's as these would improve management. I would have thought that further progress would have been made in prevention / management / cure, particularly as many countries have diabetic epidemics and a third of many populations being pre-diabetic. I am disappointed with the big IT companies as they have not delivered on what they talked about years ago - smart watches with glucose monitoring. You will struggle to be a sole source of help, as for example not all diabetics respond to foods in a linear manner, I was diagnosed in Jan 2015 and am still learning almost daily, mainly from the posts here.
Thanks for your reply. I am sorry if I have unintentionally broken the rules. Thank you so much for your comments. I do have a good understanding of diabetes and have already seen that this forum is an incredible resource.I wouldn't recommend you provide health and wellness coaching to diabetics if you don't know anything about diabetes. If you do run across any diabetics looking for help, send them to this forum.

Not a problem. You just have to request admin for permission to research. We do sometimes get people joining to use the forum to sell services, and products, so I get a bit twitchy if it appears someone is doing that. Thanks for your reply. Hi, I'm sorry I have been off line for a few days. My understanding of diabetes comes firstly from caring for patients as a practice nurse and more recently helping a relative with Type 2 diabetes manage theirs. Can I ask where you got your understanding from, thank you?
