How do I avoid hypos in the day and night

Ok please help just had the first one not feeling good either I'm ok but how do I avoid them was it something I eat bad I've been taken extra tablet gliclazide for 4vweeks and the doc was happy with the readings but today it was to low and I had some chocky and bread as it was taking it time to go up please tell me what I should be eating to avoid another I realy don't fancy another

Do you test your blood sugars regularly? i.e. before meals and two hours after meals and before bed?

You need to find out what foods effect your sugar levels.

Hi. It sounds like you are quite sensitive to Gliclazide which can cause hypos by stimulating the pancreas to produce more insulin. Can you discuss a slight reduction to the daily dosage with the doc? It is available in 40 mg tablets which some docs aren't aware of. Although you can increase the carbs you eat it may result in some weight gain but you may be OK.
 
I've been on glic for 20 years - at first I was getting night hypos, then started to test BM 1 hr before bedtime - if it was lower than 7 then I'd eat something like a banana and didn't get any more after that
 
Hi peeps yeh I've realised I need four meals a day lol but my last is a digestive bicycle no not chocky ones sob but it's ok but now having probs with asprin going to docs fri
