I have been reading the sight to fined out more on DIABETES so that I get things right for her... Thanks new friend..

Anything that you've been doing, and that you're both happy with, will still be fine. Just don't buy her chocolates :D

As for thrush - it's not inevitable. I've never had it.

You sound a nice caring person - all the best to you both.

Hi. welcome to here with the rest of us... Like viv says you sound a lovely thoughtful caring person, ure friend will still love the cuddles n kisses all over plus a nice bunch of flowers? instead of the choccys? [just an idea to help you along] :) 'if' she does get thrush just encourage her to see her GP n get the treatment for it.[just ask at family planning clinics for risks and protection advice and freebies?] n you can always offer to go along with her to show your support? Wish I had had such a caring friend like you when I was younger [almost 50] do you have any older mates that fit this age or near!? Keep reading bumpf on here to glean knowledge n information to help you help your friend it is a shock to begin with and can be so confusing till you get familar with it more... Most importantly let your friend know that the fact she has diabetes "dosent change how you " feel or relate to her at all, if anything you care for her more? Keep in touch with us n let us know how you get on. Anna.x
