I have been trying hard to lower my sugars specifically as I am having a lot of issues with proliferative retinopathy.

I keep getting told not to lower too much due to the adverse effect it can have but I am not sure how much is to much and can't seem to find many answers out there

Anyone with any experience or knowledge would be grear

I have retinopathy (treated with laser) and was told to get tighter control, but not quickly as it can make it worse (can't think of a better word) try and get better control over a few weeks. As the retinopathy doesn't follow the control, it carries on then starts to get better as your better control takes over. It is confusing as I have tightened mine but am still getting new vessels growing over the retina, but was told that it is slowing, due to the better control.
Good luck with the retinopathy
