How it used to be

Great post as usual Phoenix - I wish I had the time to catalougue all of these studies!
Thank goodness for email alerts!

just want to add that when we did the carb counting with all diabetics they were generally more focused.

However many people struggled with the whole concept and HCP stopped using them for type 2. I think that was a great mistake because it did not target portion sizes and has led to some of the wooly advice we have seen!

It has reversed again although for some it will never be an option.

Next year I may well be asking some of you to participate in some research as I am staring a masters and thinking of low carb compliance as part of my dissertation.

Oh by the way - as I am not allowed to post on the low carb forum the Exeter study has finished and I am hoping to speak to them sometime next week.

what the exeter study - I cant find it anywhere.!

About a year ago I spoke to the people involved and initail indicaters were that the low carb group and the other group given conventional results had similar results. I believe that the low carbers were eating around 70g /day. Leave it with me I am on the case!
