Peanuts are a legume. And for some type 2, legumes spike BG. I know I have to limit them.
Thank youHere you go, Jen.

As you are already a forum member you should select the Log In option at the top right hand side of the page, as opposed to the Join option. It is also available in App form, and I believe synchronises across your devices.
I do hope you find it useful, and can become one of the many positive anecdotes in due course.
You are so right lol.Yes Peanuts are a legume, technically a walnut is a fruit, cucumbers and melons are berries as are pumpkins and squashesjust like everything else you need to test to your meter because as you quite rightly say we are all different.
No afraid it was a jar lol ye ive been looking at things in store cupboard and great deal of hidden carbohydrates and sugars i didnt realise were there at the level they aremetformin has been proven to improve health of people with insulin resistance to a great extend, but it only drops the bg number a little on the doctor's computer. It can take many weak to work.
But it gets more complex as metformin makes it easier to lose weight, and losing weight helps control BG.

Did you make the tika source, if not it may have contained enough carbs to give you problems. I use dry tika spice on the meat before cooking the meat.
Thankyou support o this forum is fantastic made me feel a bit better with it allHi @Jen74 I remember very well being totally bemused by what I could eat. While the weather is warm you have the opportunity to start with lots of salads - different mixes of leaves, toms, cucumber, coleslaw +protein in some form. Start to ring the changes with the rest of your meals but keep a note of what you have eaten and then 2 hours later the test result. Avoid breakfast cereals. Go out for a brisk walk - aim for about half an hour a day, you can increase it as you feel fitter. Cheeses of various kinds ( I love Harlech), eggs, olives, peppered salami with soft cheese are all good snacks. You will soon find your way and it is such a boost when people notice that you have been losing weight yet you haven't felt hungry. There will be no problem with what to get you for Christmas this year - you will need a new wardrobe!Small steps are the way to make progress.
I must be honest im not a very healthy person have weight to loose also but this is a wake up call but so stressful knowing where to start and retraining my whole way of thinking and living
