Hi.
Is there anyone out there who knows how long it takes to receive results from an MRI scan?
There is a few years background to this so I really am not being impatient I just want to know how long I have to wait before I can get some help dealing with a leg problem which is almost certainly IMHO going to need physio and maybe a fatty lump I have had for 20 years removed. I know someone doing a sports therapy course who will give me some help in choosing suitable exercises whilst waiting for the NHS help to kick in but he will not discuss it until there is a proper medical diagnosis. I fully accept this as he does know more than my GP about how this difficulty restricts my movement and that it has in the past been diagnosed as a "sprained wrist". Yep. It is leg pain. As I say there is a long history.
The scan was performed 18 June and I was told the results will take a fortnight. Today one person at the GP's told me we are waiting for a radiographer to interpret the results, there are thousands ahead of me in the queue, that the scans are sent to Norway and they might arrive overnight.
Obviously I hope the scans will arrive tonight and I will try and speak to PALS about the matter on Tuesday when I go to the hospital on another matter. I suppose it will not be possible to get NHS scans emailed accross the car park to a private consultant but if there is a way it might make sense to put the arrangements in place then.
