Back in the days when I was running around after the children I cold eat up to 80 gm of carbs a day and maintain my weight. On 60 gm of carb a day, even if only moderately active I could lose a little weight each week.
These days a year from diagnosis, I am eating up to 50 gm a day and losing a little weight.
I suspect that the basic difference is age and activity - I have never been able to cope with carbs all my adult life, but when younger I suffered lack of energy and weight gain and bad advice from doctors and nurses. Now I am 66 and am just a bit old and still suffering from the bad advice. These days I do my best with the age, and ignore the advice about what a healthy diet means.
