Why should it be amazing, Sid?

This forum is almost self-selecting - the people who use it regularly are either pretty well-informed or know that they need to be and are trying to get that info.

The human body needs fats. It needs natural, unprocessed fats. I don't think any of us is choosing to wallow in great vats of trans-fats or hydrogenated wots-its. I don't measure my fat intake, but I do make sure I eat natural, unprocessed fats from good, preferably organic sources - when I can afford it! Sometimes I eat more of one type of fat than another, but I don't think I over-indulge in any of them - by my standards! I don't go out of my way to eat fat. I just don't avoid it.

Most human animals like at least some fats - there is an attractive mouth-feel about fat, and it makes us feel satisfied. Think of strawberries and cream - strawbs are nice, but how much nicer with the cream? Most of the things that aren't good for us don't appeal to us - fat is necessary. The problem us 'modern' humans have, is that things we would be looking for in our natural state, because they maybe were fairly scarce, or seasonally availabe, are year-round availabe to us and it's too easy to eat too much.

So - I am aware of my fat intake, but I don't measure it. I'm selective about the type of fat that I eat, and get a good variety.

There is a proportion of saturated fat in human breast milk. Is that a reason not to breast-feed our infants?

After winky smiley.

Breast milk is a perfect combination of vitamins, protein, fats and minerals.
It comes under the heading of moderation because, unlike some other mammals, you cannot make cheese with breast milk.

What a brilliant statement! Why can you not make cheese with human milk? I think that if I was still lactating I would give it a try :!:

Because the fat content is too low.

Practically blasphemy in this thread. 8)

I meant why not to carty giving it a try...

I suppose when you think about it all milk is breast milk - but only one to the human 'formula'.

I'm so glad this thread turned into a discussion about breasts!!!

Bearing in mind the time, and content of my last post, I just want to reassure everyone that I AM NOT a pervert.

Well, not MUCH of a pervert...

Nice to know they care.

Human breast milk has about the same proportion of fat as cow's milk, 4.2%. You can make cheese from cow's milk, so why not human?
