My Father in Law is knocking on a bit and finds it difficult to work out how much insulin to inject, relative to his current blood sugar reading.
I'm sure that he's not taking the right dose and probably making it up as he goes along.
Has anyone any good advice about the simplest way of safely calculating the dose that he requires.
Thanks for any advice.

We can't really give advice re dosage. But can maybe give some advice with more info.
What insulin is he using? And does he carb count? What are his blood sugar levels like?

Depends largely upon why he is finding it difficult to be honest..

How long insulin user?

Has he any type of dementia or mental health difficulties?

Has he been on courses for dose adjusting for normal eating?

Has he changed diet?

Etc etc..

We are all individual and its so very hard to advise anything without fuller details.

Ie he may have eye problems and cant see packets.. in which case there could be a lot of different helpful methods to suggest etc..
