How much insulin

Interesting I'm up in the low 30s and I am quite dinky, not that sedentary. I remember when growing up they used to look at a unit for a kg (but that was YEARs ago). I do wonder whether time as your islet cells completely pack in and weight…and then whether other things like metabolism and other hormones can effect it and change dose levels - but I haven't researched any of that it is just thinking out loud! Oh and also climate - hot places and I definitely need less.

As well as if you need to lose weight or gain it etc I think it all depends on your actual body weight, for instance a 50kg 160cm women would need less than a 90Kg 200cm man (numbers pulled out of the air but you get the idea). When starting someone off on injections or a sliding scale at the hospital isn't it a set amount based purely on what you weigh? then moved around a bit.

I think the body of a non diabetic just produces enough insulin to cover the amount of food the person has eaten in order to keep their BG between 4-7. I do know that a non diabetic can also get similar symptoms to a hypo if they've gone for a long period without eating or drinking x
