I have been on Sitagliptin just over a week ago. My blood sugars are as high as ever. I am worried I am taking this medication, with the risk of serious side effects, that its making no difference. I take Novomix as well. getting readings in the morning anything between 15-22. I also feel like I am gaining weight. I am seriously thinking of stop taking them.

Hi @dk12.

Sitagliptin is an inhibitor used to lower blood glucose levels.
If after a few weeks it does not lower your bloods, speak to your GP.
There are other inhibitors that the doctor could prescribe to suit you.
If you have the post that daisy1 sent you, you could be still eating too many carbs, which will help with the way sitagliptin works.
I have been taking the drug for over two years and have no side effects at all. My dosage had to be adjusted to be effective.
