I'm not sure I understand your question. Do you feel you are under-weight and want to get heavier? If so, the best kind of weight gain is to gain muscle. In losing weight we inevitably lose some muscle along with the fat. You can gain muscle by doing some kind of resistance training, but you have also to have adequate nutrition, enough calories to let your muscles grow. I hope this helps.

You could try eating more higher fat low carb foods such as butter, cheese, avocado, a few nuts but be careful with nuts as they do have some carbs - macadamias, almonds, walnuts, Brazil nuts are the better ones. Fatty meats like pork, cream. As always keep testing :)

Hi hichamgm,

I am currently trying to lose weight by eating one meal a day. It is working better than I could have dreamed of, enabling me to eat 40 g carbs in one sitting. My blood glucose has remained under control.

By dint of the reverse, maybe it you tried to take the same food you were using to lose weight, add some more fat and proteins to it, so you get minimal impact on your blood sugar then eat it in small meals often, maybe that would increase weight.

It is a matter of balance. As mentioned above, You could try increasing your protein and your fats without increasing your carbs. Cheese, eggs, butter, full fat yogurts, cream, meat and fish (especially oily fish)

How are your blood sugars doing now?

If you can get hold of a meter you will be able to assess how eating a few more calories affects your bg. But do you really need to gain weight? What is your BMI?

Just to clarify something for @hichamgsm - calories in themselves do not raise blood sugar. Carbs raise blood sugar so getting more calories to gain weight from fats an a bit more protein will not have a great affect on your bs :)
