Going back a little to the rememebering to inject.
I find putting the number of needles I need for the day (5 in my case) in the case with my pens helps. I can see at a glance if I have missed a jab. I've also been given a novopen echo, it has a little display on the button which tells you the time you last used it and the dose injected. Again I can check if I missed my breakfast jab in the rush, so far (I've only been using it a few weeks) it's been handy, thought I got it for the half units rather than the memory.
Otherwise for me it's just creating a routine, laying my insulin out on the table with the cutlery and injecting at the same point in the meal. For me that's usually after first course but before a pussing if we are having one. I've had a couple of issues with injecting before the meal then jumping to see to the kids and going hypo.
