how to work out carbs (turmeric smoothie)

Use something like myfitnesspal app to work out each constituent part and then ad them together?
Pineapple, mango and banana I would think will be quite high.

I don't measure anything other than my glucose levels and I've learned so much from that alone.
I eat to my meter I'm down to one Metformin a day sometimes none and I'm doing pretty well. In fact almost reversed my T2. I know very well what banana is going to do but have discovered I can get away with one in a green smoothie. That's a small one between two people and only once a week. I know lots of people probably have to count and measure stuff but I haven't had to go down that road ... it would send me nuts! If the day arrives when I have t I will of course.

Used MyFitnessPal, you cant beat it.....
  • 1 cup hemp or coconut milk - 7g
  • 1/2 cup frozen pineapple or mango chunks - 27g
  • 1 fresh banana - 27g
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil - 0g
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric (can be increased to 1 tsp) - 0g
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon - 0g
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger - 0g
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds - 12g
  • 1 teaspoon maca (optional) - 4g

So in total - 77g of carbohydrate, 514 calories

can you not have half that portion....?

you just need t experiments, have it, and see what happens with the BG
Tell me not to be nosey by all means but is the guy in your picture called Paul?

Mango, pineapple and banana - just pure glucose. Will have your numbers rocketing and even if you try and cover the dosage with insulin it won't work fast enough or if you inject too early you might go too low. Frustrating right?

I made a smoothie tasted yum actually:

Half an avocado

1 cup of spinach

1 and 1/2 cups of unsweetened almond milk

Some lemon and cinnamon

1 tbsp of splenda

Being nosey is what online forums is all about....lol....

And no, the guy in the picture is me, is that not obvious....?
Nothing is obvious to me lately!
I seem to be walking around semi comatose.
You're a dead ringer for someone I know in North Wales but not well. Just a guy I speak to occasionally.

Depending on your taste buds, I add cider vinegar and cinnamon to kale, spinach or any other green veg that goes into my daily smoothie mask the flavours of the green veg and suits my tastes buds, I only throw in a small handful of frozen berries along with double cream and coconut oil and 2 Brazil nuts.
I mix this in the large cup of my nutribullet, this will last me all day normally 3-4 glasses throughout they day.

More a question than reply, does anybody know of a site for diabetic smoothie recipes? Just bought a smoothie maker,
All the gear no idea
