HPR Acquisition Etiquette - What's Yours?

This thread made me spray whisky on my screen, I was laughing so hard. Almost made up for the sad fact that I can’t find an HPR locally for love nor money :(

But not quite.

I ventured out into the snow to get some provisions at the nearest Lidl and there were no protein rolls, no label - and when I inquired, they have no more of the dough frozen for use - so now it is a matter of waiting out the gap in supply - hopefully - and seeking out the bags in the freezer where my stash is hidden.
On the subject of acquisition, I just grab the lot, by hand, and carry them away!

Yep. Me too!
Plucked, into bag and into basket/trolley.
My germs, my choice!

Never naked again til on my plate.

I only use as crackers now as Morrisons protein sliced bread gives me egg on toast with better etiquette.
Rolls are so clumsy and awkward to eat unless thinly sliced and toasted for cracker substitutes.

I use a couple of the methods already mentioned. I don't use the tongs, I only touch what I buy, and I usually buy the lot because I don't have a Lidl near me so can't do a daily trip.

Love this thread lol.

At Lidl on Monday morning. I might indulge in a few, if they're there. Ha ha

I have some soft cheese and chives feeling sorry for itself in fridge. Ha ha.

I best support our rolls, incase they go. That would be a travesty.

Enjoy everyone! :)

I hope you get lucky on Monday. And yes, I also wonder if the reason why so many Lidl's don't have them is because not enough people buy them. Use it or lose it!

I also have some soft cheese in my fridge which is waiting for an HPR, but I didn't get lucky today. The ovens in my local Lidl are still out of action. I even drove to another Lidl I've never tried before, about 15 miles away. Their ovens worked but they weren't doing HPRs, at least not today.

Since I was there anyway, I got me some celery, avocado, peppers etc, but it just wasn't the same.

They say they are best sellers at mine, they regularly sell out.

I believe some people on this forum have asked the manager at their Lidl stores to bake some to order and keep them for collection. I've never done that yet, but if I ever have a long run of bad luck getting hold of them then I might give it a try at my local.

If you search for the other threads on Lidl HP rolls you will see what is happening. It seems they have discontinued them for the time being. Some stores are still using up old stock of the frozen dough. They have done this twice before when they change something, usually the size.

Oh noes. I was aware of talk of discontinuation in another thread a few months back, which I thought turned out to be a miscommunication, i.e. they didn't know what rolls people were asking about. I asked Lidl about High Protein Rolls in an email, and they said that the Low GI Rolls were being discontinued. I've seen both regularly since. I came to the conclusion that I might as well just keep turning up and seeing what they have in stock, because at Lidl, the head doesn't know that the hands are doing.
