What is humulin M3? Never heard of it. I used Lilly's brand name Humulin when it came out as a synthetic short acting bolus insulin. It got more or less replaced by Humulog which is shorter acting identical to Novolog/Novoraid.I use humulin M3 I think it's great for my lifestyle why don't more people use it???
Hi. If it works well for you then great. Most T1s find that they need Basal/Bolus (MDI) to provide enough BS control together with meal flexibility. It's also NICE preferred. Yes, it means more shots. I take 4 shots per day and never quite understood why people split the Basal and add another shot even though the Basal lasts less than 24 hours.I use humulin M3 I think it's great for my lifestyle why don't more people use it???
it's a mix of insulin with both long acting insulin and fast acting insulin all in one injection it last for 12-14 hours I use a mix of 75% - 25% but you can get a 50%-50% mix as wellWhat is humulin M3? I rearly eat high carb/sugar food so M3 works well (less injection )
I use humulog for correction and when I have high carb/sugar
but the reason I'm asking is because I'm thinking that I could use humulin i for night time when I'm asleep because I'm struggling to stay in range without eating before I go to bed

M3 twice a day and humulog at lunchHi there..
You would need to speak with your HCPs with regards to adjustment of the M3 dose for evening/night time..
I would be wary of correcting with fast acting (Humalin.) prior to bed.
Do you inject the M3 twice a day?
Edit. Tagging in @urbanracer , he has more recent experience of this sort of regime..
