So husband is type 2 for about 8 years and readings have been getting higher and higher he lost some weight and they went down slightly a couple of months back , tested his blood today and it's 14.2 !! I have finally convinced him to low carb I just hope it's not too late for him

Whatever the outcome might have been, if he goes low carb it is going to alter to be a better one.
It is like smoking - no matter how long a person has been a smoker stopping is always going to make a change for the better.
I think it always cheers up anyone to have steak, tomatoes and mushrooms served up - and then to be told that it is their new diet and it is going to be good for them - couldn't be any better really.
Unless they are told it is roast chicken for dinner.

Hi @Dippydolly ..
I agree 100% with what @Resurgam has said above and I'm pleased that you have convinced hubby to go Low Carb .. you (and he) won't regret it ..

For me, committing to an LCHF (Low Carb High Fat) lifestyle and upping my exercise seems to be working and you'll find that there is a wealth of info, relevant advice and positive support about LCHF on the forum. I suggest that you read up on the Low Carb Program and you might also find the discussion on the Low Carb Diet forum helpful, together with the following websites .. Low Carb Intro and Information and Low Carbs in 60 Seconds

I'm also testing 3-4 times a day which works out at around £10 to £12 per month for the two packages above but, more importantly, I now know what my BG levels are .. and I can manage them

Hope this helps
