Yesterday afternoon I think I caught a bug off my son (he was home from school with sickness and diorhhea). I ate lunch and felt quite ill in the afternoon. I didn't have any tea cos there was no way I could of kept it down. About 7pm I had a hypo it was 3.3 but didn't treat it cos I felt so ill. Just before I went to bed around 10 my blood was at 7.9 I don't understand how it went up when I didn't treat it any ideas please?

You were lucky. Your liver dumped (as it is supposed to) and rescued your BG levels.

I don't know much about insulin use, or what it feels like to have a hypo, but I'm genuinely concerned that you "felt too ill" to treat a hypo. Sorry to be dramatic, but next time you do that, your liver might not rescue you, and you might not wake up. Ever.

Yes I understand it was dangerous but I just could not face eating or drinking anything because I know it would of made me sick.

I'm no expert but hypo's should always be treated, so I am informed by those who are paid to know. I sometimes wake in the night with a blood sugar that is in range, but when I get up in the morning it is high. I was told that it is because the body sends out a cocktail of glucose and hormones to get you going. Possibly it might be the same thing as you rested?
